We are now searching for our next Primary School Sports Events Lead.

Are you a people person with strong listening, advocacy and influencing skills? Are you confident and comfortable to present and interact with people at all levels of management and age? Do you possess a “can-do” attitude coupled with strong planning, prioritising and problem-solving skills? Do you think outside of the box? Is working with tamariki a passion of yours? Are you comfortable and confident to organise school cluster and sports events? Do you see yourself as a servant leader who is comfortable to be out and about working within and alongside our community? Someone who can work both autonomously and in a team environment?

Are you a people person who is motivated, empathetic, and passionate about supporting children and families to live healthy and active lifestyles?

Are you confident and comfortable to work with a diverse group of people in group and individual settings in the community and over the phone?

Do you have a “can-do” attitude coupled with strong organisation and planning skills?

We are seeking an Active Families Healthy Lifestyle Advisor to join the health and wellness team at Sport Auckland to assist in the delivery of the national Active Families programme in Auckland.

We are seeking someone who:

  • Is passionate about working with children, parents and whanau to live healthy and active lifestyles
  • Has qualifications and experience in the Health, Wellness or physical activity sector.
  • Deliver personalised, ongoing support through physical activity and healthy eating sessions & other face-to-face, phone, and online interactions, focusing on behaviour change and goal setting.
  • Facilitate group education sessions for the Active Families programme participants and whanau.
  • Empower participants with self-management skills to sustain long-term lifestyle improvements.
  • Has work experience in, or strong knowledge of, behavioural change and motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Sound understanding of health conditions and management of conditions such as diabetes and obesity.
  • Excellent communication skills and time management.
  • Are prepared to work flexible hours
